Kelvin Crosby (DeafBlind Potter) is raising capital donations to get his invention, the SEE ME CANE, to improve blind pedestrian safety in public. Please share his story and donate.
“I was HIT BY A CAR and I need your help!”
As a DeafBlind person, I’ve experienced the terrifying reality of being hit by a car—three times in my life. Sadly, this is not unique to me; many visually impaired individuals face the same danger. That’s why I created the See Me Cane, a lighted blind cane designed to make blind pedestrians more visible and reduce the risk of accidents.
I need your help to make the See Me Cane accessible to as many visually impaired people as possible. Your donation will directly fund these critical initiatives:
• Employ Visually Impaired Workers: We will partner with the Louisiana Association for the Blind, a manufacturing facility that hires visually impaired individuals, to produce the See Me Canes.
• Set Up Accessible Manufacturing: Your support will help us establish the tooling and infrastructure needed to produce the canes in an accessible, inclusive environment.
• Support Distribution: We will hire visually impaired individuals to manage shipping, sales, and customer service, creating job opportunities within the community.
• Mass Production of See Me Canes: With your help, we aim to mass produce the canes to increase visibility, save lives, and empower the visually impaired community.
Our goal is to raise $500,000 to bring this life-saving tool to those who need it most.
How Your Donation Helps: Your contribution will make a real difference, not only by improving the safety of visually impaired pedestrians but also by providing jobs for individuals with visual impairments throughout the production and distribution process.
Partnering for a Cause: We’ve partnered with the Living Beyond the Label Foundation to offer tax-deductible donations. Every contribution counts and helps bring us closer to our goal.
