Always Accuse Your Enemy of What You Yourself Are Doing

(A Machiavellian corrupt precept)

If “de-Russification” is now an acceptable conversation in the West — rooting out the long-entrenched Soviet ideological networks that infiltrated our institutions during the 20th century — then we should also be willing to speak plainly about the propaganda tactics being used today by the Kremlin while it shouts about “denazification.”

There is a classic rule in psychological warfare:

Always accuse your enemy of the very thing you are guilty of.

In academic terms, it’s called projection and accusation-in-a-mirror — flipping reality upside-down so the guilty appear innocent, and the innocent spend all their time defending themselves.

Russia has perfected this tactic. While claiming to fight “Nazism,” Moscow has spent decades hosting, tolerating, and in many cases protecting ultranationalist and neo-Nazi formations inside Russia itself. The annual Russian March in Moscow has repeatedly displayed extremist symbols, chants, and salutes — well-documented by independent monitors.

A 2015 Moscow monitoring report documented nationalists marching with:

“fascist salutes, chanting racist slogans, displaying Confederate and other extremist flags, and commemorating imprisoned neo-Nazis at Russian March events.”

Neo-Nazis Inside Russia’s Own War Machine

The Wagner Group traces its origin to Dmitry Utkin — its military commander and namesake — who public-facing photographs show with unmistakable Nazi tattoos: SS runes, a Nazi eagle, and other Third Reich symbols. Utkin reportedly adopted “Wagner” as his callsign in honor of Richard Wagner, Adolf Hitler’s favorite composer, further underlining the ideological homage. Multiple credible investigations into Wagner describe the group as infused with “far-right, neo-Nazi ideology,” including frequent graffiti of swastikas and SS-symbols in zones where Wagner fighters have operated.

More concretely, Rusich — a paramilitary sub-unit formally linked to Wagner — is openly classified as neo-Nazi. Its leader, Alexey Milchakov, has publicly declared “I’m a Nazi” and has been sanctioned by Western governments for war crimes allegedly committed under Rusich’s command. Rusich’s insignia prominently feature a kolovrat (a Slavic sun-wheel symbol widely used as a stylised swastika), and the group has been credibly linked to atrocities committed in Ukraine and Syria while fighting alongside Russian forces.
