Flagler County Man Throws Marijuana Out Car Window During Police Chase, Deputies Say

A Flagler Beach man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he fled a traffic stop Saturday night and tried to ditch marijuana by throwing it out of his car window during a pursuit.

What Happened

According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began when deputies attempted to pull over 48-year-old Jarvis Warren on Seminole Woods Parkway for avoiding a traffic control device. Despite patrol cars activating lights and sirens, Warren allegedly refused to stop. Deputies said Warren slowed down several times as if preparing to pull over but then sped away when the patrol cars followed suit. As he turned into a neighborhood in the U-Section of Palm Coast, deputies observed Warren tossing a bright yellow plastic bag out of his car window. The bag was later recovered and confirmed to contain marijuana.

Warren ultimately stopped at a home on Underwick Path, where deputies took him into custody without further incident.

Charges and Statement from Authorities

Warren now faces several charges, including:

Fleeing and eluding law enforcement with lights and sirens activated
Tampering with evidence
Possession of marijuana

“This guy took a possible misdemeanor marijuana offense and turned it into felony charges,” said Sheriff Rick Staly.

“He thought tossing a bright yellow bag would go unnoticed — but once again, our deputies were on it, and now he’s at the Green Roof Inn.”

Warren is currently being held without bond at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
