Two Injured in Daytona Beach Shooting Following Fight, Police Say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Two people were injured, including an innocent bystander, after a fight escalated into gunfire outside a business in Daytona Beach Monday afternoon, according to police.

What happened:

Officers with the Daytona Beach Police Department were called to 402 Madison Avenue after receiving reports of a fight between two individuals. During the altercation, one of the men allegedly pulled out a gun and fired.

Police said 23-year-old Nathan Joseph Lee was identified as the shooter. He allegedly shot the other person involved in the fight once. A second person, who was not part of the altercation, was grazed by a bullet after it struck a nearby wall.

Injuries:

Both individuals hit by gunfire were transported to a hospital. Their conditions were not immediately released.

Arrest:

Lee was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Volusia County Jail on charges related to the shooting.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
