One of Fort Lauderdale’s most consistent creative events returns this weekend: the FATVillage ArtWalk, taking place Saturday, July 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Flagler Arts and Technology Village.

Located in the city's historic warehouse district, FATVillage has become a hub for artists, designers, and small creative businesses. Once a month, the area opens to the public for ArtWalk, a free and walkable event featuring open studios, gallery exhibitions, local vendors, and live performances.

The ArtWalk typically spans NW 1st Avenue between NW 5th Street and NW 1st Street. Visitors can expect to see exhibitions inside venues like The Projects Contemporary Art Space and FATVillage Studios, along with food trucks and local pop-up markets outside.

This month’s featured exhibit at The Projects is titled Heat Index, a group show featuring works from South Florida-based artists that reflect on themes like climate, urban growth, and identity. The gallery’s exhibitions often explore socially relevant topics and are curated by local arts organizers connected to Fort Lauderdale’s growing creative scene.
